A super sentence!

Angelica wrote a super sentence this morning and guess what, it was true too!! Well at least I think it was ... Angelica may be teasing me!

Map makers!

Walking around the village helped us to plot some of the landmarks of East Harling into a map. We were brilliant at it! Look!

We went for a walk in the village yesterday afternoon and my goodness didn't we learn some new and interesting facts!

We will share these with you, but not quite yet-you'll have to wait until we have finished our tourist leaflets all about East Harling and why it us a wonderful place to live!

We looked at some house names and learned that some of the houses used to be special places many years ago, like a bakery and a bank. Rueben's Great Nanny had a haberdashery on the market square.

Persuading Ant to live in East Harling

Today we learned how to make an iMovie to persuade Ant to come to East Harling. Some if us thought book creator would be better, so they used that to make a guide all about our school and village. We thought we had better use some persuasive words. Caitlin's was so incredibly amazing that she got a Headteacher credit!

World Book Day Fun!

We had lots of lovely reading activities today, like listening to stories, guided reading, making story strips and of course poem of the day! Tomorrow we are going to make a bar chart about our favourite books.

We listened to a story online first of all. It was about a frog. 

Mrs Spurdens listened to lots of readers. 

We used dictionaries to help us learn words. Some of us enjoyed looking at pages in the dictionary like Clarice Bean does!

Justin likes spiders. There's a really creepy one at the end of this book! 

Oli's favourite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He enjoyed the story strip activity because he likes drawing and writing about things. 

Olivia's favourite book is a pop up book.

A message from a celebrity!!

Look who is thinking about coming to East Harling! We need to persuade him that East Harling is a great place to live. We are going to decide the best way to tell him about East Harling.

Estimating weights

This morning we have been working collaboratively to estimate the lightest and heaviest things from Miss BB's cupboards. We put them in order of size. After we had estimated, we looked for the numbers on the packets to find out how much they actually weighed and which ones were the heaviest and lightest. Super working together today! It made Miss BB feel all warm and fuzzy. Look how full the pot is!
