World Book Day Fun!
We had lots of lovely reading activities today, like listening to stories, guided reading, making story strips and of course poem of the day! Tomorrow we are going to make a bar chart about our favourite books.
We listened to a story online first of all. It was about a frog.

Mrs Spurdens listened to lots of readers.

We used dictionaries to help us learn words. Some of us enjoyed looking at pages in the dictionary like Clarice Bean does!

Justin likes spiders. There's a really creepy one at the end of this book!
Oli's favourite book is Diary of a Wimpy Kid. He enjoyed the story strip activity because he likes drawing and writing about things.
Olivia's favourite book is a pop up book.
There was some super concentration in this guided group!
Look at Matti's story strip!
Sid shared his book with Charlie.
Evie thinks dinosaur books are fascinating and so does Matti!
Can you guess why this is Daisy's favourite book?
Super story strip concentration!

WOW, WOW, WOW!!
Deep in the heart of Banham the word WOW keeps bouncing around the walls of Miss BB's house! This is because she is reading the amazing writing by class 2! There are so many power words that Miss BB's socks have blown off her feet too many times to count! Look for yourself!

A great firework recount!
Jayden wrote a fantastic recount about bonfire night. He used wonderful words and such great descriptions that I felt like I was there with him! Listen for yourself as Jayden reads his recount of bonfire night.

Daring sea rescue!
The DaRTS reporting team took great pleasure in telling the story of their most recent rescue success today. Their new transport is a big hit and the helicopter did its job brilliantly. Look at the front pages of the local papers!

Night zookeeper stories
Our night zookeepers have been busy recording the adventures of some of the animals they have met in the night zoo. They decided these adventures would make great stories to share with other children! Look out for some audio clips very soon.
Charlie wrote such a fantastic story that he went to see Miss Yates for a headteacher credit!
