Our wonderful village!

We went for a walk in the village yesterday afternoon and my goodness didn't we learn some new and interesting facts!

We will share these with you, but not quite yet-you'll have to wait until we have finished our tourist leaflets all about East Harling and why it us a wonderful place to live!

The fire station

The old police station

We looked at some house names and learned that some of the houses used to be special places many years ago, like a bakery and a bank. Rueben's Great Nanny had a haberdashery on the market square.
Who lives here?!

The post office

We learned about the memorial and the village sign. There also used to be a vineyard in East Harling.

Back at school we have been reading a brilliant book about East Harling, with lots of interesting facts and pictures. Please tell us your interesting facts about East Harling by adding a comment below.

Our Brilliant Theatre Trip

We had a fantastic time at Snail on a Whale last week! Some of the children's views will be coming very soon. It is one of our favourite stories in class.

Class 1 and 2 visit the church

We went to the church today to learn about belonging to the church. We took part in a Baptism so we could understand how people show that they belong to the Christian family.

We had parents and godparents.

The first thing we did was light a candle and pray.

We learned that there are three symbols for Baptism,  the cross, oil and holy water. Sarah put a cross of oil on the baby's head.

Then we all made crosses with the oil.

The baby was then taking to the font for the Holy Water.

Our baby was named Lou Lou in the ceremony. She was very well behaved!

We learned a lot about the church too and became detectives, finding out lots of clues about belonging to the church.
