Teach your monster to read!

After all that lovely typing this morning, we have been working hard teaching our pet monsters to read this afternoon! It has been great fun!

Dance mat typing

Today we have been practising typing on a computer. We had to find the Internet, then the class blog, then the virtual learning pages. We then found dance mat typing. We have been trying really hard to use all our fingers to type.

Lily-Rose thought it was very good! Holly was very pleased with herself when she could do it! Olivia really got the hang of putting her fingers in the right place and Oliver thought it was really good and fun too!

Oliver was great at helping Charlie. What a perfect partner!

Night zookeeper stories

Our night zookeepers have been busy recording the adventures of some of the animals they have met in the night zoo. They decided these adventures would make great stories to share with other children! Look out for some audio clips very soon.

Charlie wrote such a fantastic story that he went to see Miss Yates for a headteacher credit!

WOW!

Jasmine is the first person to have work on our new WOW board! She prepared at home reasons why she would be a great class representative for the school council. Fantastic Jasmine!

A visit from a monkey owl!

A monkey owl visited class 2 this week! We had lots of questions to ask her, like where had she been and what did she do in the night zoo? She was a fidgety creature and couldn't sit still. It was funny how she made monkey-owl noises. She can fly too! Our budding photographer Olivia took her photo before she flew away!

Look out for more stories from night zoo creatures very soon.

Night zookeepers

Some of our night zoo keepers have been completing special missions this week like creating new gates for the night zoo and hunting the spying giraffes.

Wow Archie!!

Amalie and Perdie found out that Archie's name means 'brave and bold' and these latest pictures show how true that is! He has been kayaking and rock climbing today - all after a hearty breakfast of course! We hope Archie decides to come home at the end of the week!

Archie tries some archery!

Archery bear is having a fabulous time, even though he has forgotten his waterproof clothes! He was able to join in the archery today, but oh dear, what's this ...
Click on Harry and Archie to visit the Lakeside blog.

Archie forgot to listen and went near the target when someone was loosing an arrow or two. Oucheee Archie!

Archie Bear is a stowaway!

We were having a look at class 6's brand new Lakeside blog this morning and could not believe our eyes when we saw that Archie Bear had hidden away in Miss Yate's rucksack! He obviously heard how they are going on an adventure and wanted to go with them!  We were a bit worried that he might not have his toothbrush or walking boots, but we hope he has a lovely time! Holly wrote him a letter saying how we were missing him already!

Night Zoo Creatures!

The Night Zookeepers have been busy this week on their mission to try and find the spying giraffe! We took our binoculars and cameras with us and crept quietly around the enclosures.  Unfortunately, those clever creatures were hiding so well that we didn't see any! We saw lots of others though and took some photos. We then went back to the photo lab and printed off our photos.  Look at the creatures we found!

Trying something new

Today we have tried something new in class. We tried a cumberlon. Can you guess from its name what it is a mixture of?

Lots of liked them in class, but some of us didn't. We were very brave to try them though!

We can count to 10 in Japanese!

On Friday we learned to count to 10 in Japanese! We were learning how it is easier to learn things when you use your eyes, your ears and your whole body! You can learn it here too, or look out for the video of us doing it - coming very soon!

You can listen to us counting to 10 here

Meet Archie Bear!

This week we have welcomed Toby, Bertie and Oliver to East Harling Primary, but there is another, more furry newcomer - Archie Bear! Archie would love to go travelling with you around East Harling, Norfolk or beyond. Where can you take him next year? We will follow wherever he goes on his travelling map. We can also add a photo!
