A tent for Frankie bear!
Frankie Bear is feeling very jealous that Archie Bear went to Lakeside and he didn't get to go. He asked us to make him a tent, so we thought we had better find the best material to make one.
We tested 6 different types of material and thought about the good things and bad things about each one. We worked together really well.
Holly counted carefully to 60 each time!
We found that the apron material would be the best one to keep Archie or Frankie bear warm and dry. Jayden thought the paper wasn't good because it wasn't waterproof and because it tore when it was wet. Daisy thought the thin plastic wasn't good because if it was hard rain it would break. Aiden thought the wool was soft and warm, but wasn't waterproof so wouldn't make a good tent.

Keeping Archie Bear warm
Today we investigated the best type of material to keep Archie Bear warm in the winter. He doesn't have a coat like Frankie, so we thought we would find out what would make the best one for him.
We made an experiment and pretended that a beaker was Archie, with warm water inside to be like his warm blood. We thought of ways to keep it fair, like having the same amount of water in each one. Then we wrapped the beakers in fur, paper, plastic, bubble wrap or wadding. We left one without a 'jacket' on to see what happened to that.
Oli, Daisy, Rueben and Caitlin checked the thermometers carefully to see what the readings were. We will share our results very soon!

Talking to Santa!
Today Santa talked to us all the way from the North Pole! We were able to ask him lots of questions. We thought it was fantastic!
